Do you still want a Senior Slide Show?
Well it's that time of year again, when the Film and Television department prepares for the Senior Slide Show. However due to declining interest the past several years, the Slide Show will be trying something different this year in an effort to stimulate interest and participation. The last several years The Slide Show consistently has not received enough photos to produce a quality presentation.
What usually happens is the same 5 kids usually send in large amounts of pictures of themselves and their close friends making the show nothing but a rehash of the same individuals over and over again. This is not an accurate representation of the wonderful cultural diversity exhibited here at Capital High School. The film and TV department desperately depends on DVD sales help to build and fund the department. The Film and Television department is technology driven and does so through fund raisers, grants, and DVD sales. The last two years less than 5 were sold.
The Senior Slide Show is very time consuming, taking several months, and detracting from several departmental classes in order to complete. But it is also a wonderful thing to have and look back on as an adult. If taken seriously it can be a very emotional experience and one that you will treasure. It will be something you are glad you own. The Slide Show will only be as good as the effort YOU put into it. Therefore,it is for that reason ( regretfully) that the department has decided, given all of these variables; if a pre-order of 25 copies is not met before Feburary 28, 2010, we will not produce a slide show for the 2009-2010 graduating class. Pre-ordering is a great way to make sure you get a Senior Slide Show the day of the Senior Breakfast, with no waiting. Regrettably, there is too much involved with the limited participation from the parents and student body to warrant the expenditure of time and materials that it takes to produce. If you are interested in the pre-order you may fill out this order form and send a post dated check for Feb 28. If 25 are sold we will produce the slide show as normal (figuring that at least the 25 people that bought one will participate and send in MULTIPLE photos! ) If we do not sell 25 we will return your checks promptly, with our regrets.
