Welcome to the Social Studies Department of Capital High School

Hello! It is my pleasure to Welcome you to the Social Studies department of Capital High School. I am the department head Pete Meszaros. I have been head of this department for twelve years. The mission statement for this department is "teacher learning is the key to student learning."

In that time we have the sharing of Ideas and materials within the department. (We all help each other out) using classroom assessment to enhance student achievement as a department.

Currently we are planning/working with the English department on putting together a research paper for grades in both classes. Also not just using the smart board but teaching students how to use it as well. We are working to bring these new experiences to our students.
